The launch of the Group Video Calling feature comes at a time when FriendCaller is experiencing rapid growth. “Since first introducing free two-way video calling in August 2011, FriendCaller has continued to experience explosive growth not only in the number of users, but also in the consistent usage of our apps for both voice and video calls,” said Martin Feuerhahn, CEO of FriendCaller developer C2Call GmbH. “In the last 30 days alone, we have added more than one million users organically, and we are not spending but making money on advertisements, which allows us to continue to offer our video chat services for free.”

In commenting on the technology used for new feature, Michael Knecht, CTO of C2Call GmbH, said, “We leveraged our patent-pending technology to add the multi-point video calling feature to our apps. Our innovative and complex algorithms require extremely low resources on both the mobile client and cloud server side. For now, we are starting by supporting up to four video participants, and up to six audio participants. Later this month, we will be demonstrating even more advanced capabilities at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, including support for up to seven video participants, and up to 20 voice participants.”

FriendCaller leverages C2Call’s unique cross-platform, cloud-hosted technology to provide users a number of innovative features that in addition to Group Video Calling include Text Messaging (SMS), Browser-based WebPhone, Caller-ID, unique CallMe-Links, video calling and a real phone number. The updated FriendCaller apps with the multi-point video conferencing feature are available starting today on the iTunes App Store, Android Market and the FriendCaller.com website.

iPad users have already downloaded over 12 million apps from the App store. Developers have created over 5,000 exciting new apps just for the iPad alone. The iPad also supports the 200,000 apps already available on App Store.

Due to the large screen, extreme graphics, and multi-touch interface, the price of the apps for iPad has been recorded to be higher than the price of the same apps on iPhone or iPod Touch, but still many developers try to keep a strong customer relationship and welcomes new iPad customers, by keeping their app prices reasonable or same as that available on iPhone or iPod Touch.
