FriendCaller’s Enhanced Voice Quality – Improving Echo Cancellation

During the past few months our developers have worked hard to enhance the voice quality of FriendCaller products to a higher level by improving the echo cancellation.
What does Echo Cancellation mean?
Echoes are present wherever sound is generated. Normally an echo of a few milliseconds gets “filtered” in our brain so we are unable to perceive it. In the old-fashioned analog direct communication, or human beings communicating face to face, echoes are usually very short, so that despite of a lot of sound being around, one barely hears any echo.
However, in digital telephony the audio signals get decomposed into packets, and usually they are carried with a significant time lag towards the called party. Use of loud speakers, incorrect audio settings, reflection of audio signals from objects and the network delays are some of the few causes for echoes to generate, and thus resulting in a poor voice quality.
To prevent this, the so-called echo circle has to be broken, and here comes the FriendCaller echo canceller into play for a better voice quality. This exclusive echo canceller filters out the correct signals and thus tremendously improves the voice quality.
Besides our new Echo Cancelling technology, we have also integrated a new noise filter, which removes the well-known problems from the conventional microphones and thus suppresses any annoying noise. Now an Automatic Gain Control automatically regulates the sensitivity of microphone for removal of unwanted noise.
