FriendCaller Introduces Cross-Platform, Multi-Party Group Video Calling

SUNNYVALE, CA–(Marketwire – Feb 2, 2012) – C2Call GmbH today expanded the feature-set of its popular FriendCaller voice and video calling apps, with the introduction of multi-point video and voice conferencing capabilities supporting up to ten call participants. FriendCaller users on Apple iOS devices including iPhone®, iPod touch® and iPad™, Android™-based smart phones and tablets, and the FriendCaller WebPhone at www.FriendCaller.com can immediately join free group video calls.

The launch of the Group Video Calling feature comes at a time when FriendCaller is experiencing rapid growth. “Since first introducing free two-way video calling in August 2011, FriendCaller has continued to experience explosive growth not only in the number of users, but also in the consistent usage of our apps for both voice and video calls,” said Martin Feuerhahn, CEO of FriendCaller developer C2Call GmbH. “In the last 30 days alone, we have added more than one million users organically, and we are not spending but making money on advertisements, which allows us to continue to offer our video chat services for free.”

In commenting on the technology used for new feature, Michael Knecht, CTO of C2Call GmbH, said, “We leveraged our patent-pending technology to add the multi-point video calling feature to our apps. Our innovative and complex algorithms require extremely low resources on both the mobile client and cloud server side. For now, we are starting by supporting up to four video participants, and up to six audio participants. Later this month, we will be demonstrating even more advanced capabilities at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, including support for up to seven video participants, and up to 20 voice participants.”

FriendCaller leverages C2Call’s unique cross-platform, cloud-hosted technology to provide users a number of innovative features that in addition to Group Video Calling include Text Messaging (SMS), Browser-based WebPhoneCaller-ID, unique CallMe-Linksvideo calling and a real phone number. The updated FriendCaller apps with the multi-point video conferencing feature are available starting today on the iTunes App StoreAndroid Market and the FriendCaller.com website.

FriendCaller adds Group Calling and Messaging on Android

Update: The current version of Android (1.2.1) possess German, French and Italian language support including Chinese language previously introduced. Get rolling and update your Android version from the marketplace! http://fc.vc/android-voip

Android group calling

Hello everyone!

Previously FriendCaller introduced personal Phone number, amazing Texting / SMS, and  DID (Direct inward dialing) feature for Android.   Now FriendCaller came up with the idea of gathering all of your friends on a single platform where you can easily conduct Group Chat, Group Messaging and Group Calling. Obviously, informing a same thing to single entity one by one gets a hell lot of irritating right? Simplify your life with FriendCaller’s Group Calling and Messaging for Android.

Starting an IM Conference is easy. You just need to tap the ‘Create Group’ icon at FriendCaller for Android app, select friends you want to add in a group, name the group and you are all set to initiate Group conferencing with friends. How much more simple it can be?  Add as many members you want. A single message written is delivered to all the participants in a matter of seconds! Pretty neat!

Get an update or download the latest version of Android from the Marketplace to avail this cool feature!
Converse together with FriendCaller!  :-)
